Video Post: The Camino Portuguese from Porto to Barcelos (Pt. 1)

This is the first video installment documenting our Camino Portuguese pilgrimage from Porto to Santiago. This video covers our first two days from Porto To Vilarinho and Vilarinho To Barcelos.

Back in 2012, I completed the Camino Frances and put together a documentary called “A Journey of the Mind“. The popularity of that video is a large part of what encouraged me to launch Trail to Peak. Six years after walking 500 miles from St. Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, I returned to the Iberian Peninsula to walk the 150-mile Camino Portuguese. This time around, I was joined by my wife and son.

I didn’t know what to expect when we began the first of our 10 day pilgrimage to Santiago, but was instantly blown away by how much Owen was loving each and every second. I’ve put together the first of a multipart series documenting our experience. This video covers our first two days from Porto To Vilarinho and Vilarinho To Barcelos.

I'm Drew, creator of Trail to Peak. Trail to Peak brings content to life on the web through breath-taking photography and captivating video. I launched Trail to Peak in 2014 with a goal to inspire readers to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. I have traveled to 19 countries, walked Camino de Santiago, hiked the John Muir Trail, trekked through the Andes of Peru, and am constantly seeking new adventures in my home state of California. Joining me on my weekly adventures is my partner, Julia, our son, Owen, and our two goldendoodles, Isla and Lilly.

Unique trails through unspoiled landscapes. Why should it always be “The Alps”, GR 20, Pulpit Rock, “the Tour du Mont Blanc”, “Cinque Terre”, “the Camino”. Laugavegurinn trail , Slovenian Mountain Trail……
There are so many other unique places for unique trails.
    Have a nice walk!!!!

    • Thanks, Hans. I’ll check out your site. I’ve wanted to hike the GR 20, so will have to see what you have posted on it.
