I came home from the John Muir Trail with more photos and video footage than I know what to do with. I just finished the daily trip reports for the entire John Muir Trail and have set my sights on tying to put together a proper video, like the ones I did for the Camino and my Peru treks. Until then, here is a preview of some footage I captured on my 222 mile hike from Yosemite Valley to Whitney Portal.
Amazing! Loved It! Thank you for sharing. Did this hike in 84;86;96 and my husband an daughter did it this past summer. i am aiming to return 2016.
Wow! So cool to hear you’ve hiked the JMT 3 times and that your husband and daughter walked recently. It’s an amazing trail, and I hope to walk it again someday. I’m lucky to live only a few hours drive from the trailheads. I’m thinking I might do a northbound hike next time to change it up.
Glorious adventure and beautiful scenery of nature!! Thank you for sharing man, really inspiring me and my friends to go there and hike it too!! one more time, many many Thanks to YOU!! 🙂
Thank you very much for the kind words, and I’m glad the video was able to provide some motivation!
Simply beautiful!
Thanks, Jacqui!
Thanks for the inspiration and great video footage!
Thanks for watching!
Stunning scenery! You can smell the fresh air through the images…
Thanks, Christine!
Really makes me want to do the JMT! Looks like the trail is all rock and very hard packed, I do love the woods of NH for some soft ground on trail at times.
It’s a great trail! The Sierra granite is legendary. There are some nice forests and soft trails on the northern section of trail, but the southern section is almost entirely above 9000ft, so lot’s of rocky ground. Near Muir and Mather pass, my feet were getting a little tender, but I’m pretty used to it, as my home mountains are nothing but rock 🙂
Well done! I will look forward to seeing the longer version when it is all finished. This makes me super-excited to get out there myself!
Thanks!
I’m so looking forward to that. 😊
Thanks! I hope to have it done soon!
