I just returned from an incredible two weeks on the John Muir Trail. Julia and I hiked 222 miles from Yosemite Valley to Whitney Portal, climbing 47,000 ft of elevation, and got to enjoy Yosemite National Park, Ansel Adams Wilderness, John Muir Wilderness, Kings Canyon National Park, and Sequoia National Park. Here are my 11 favorite photos!
Camino de Santiago is a 500 mile pilgrimage across Spain. I walked “The Way” in 2012, and it has thus far been the most transformative travel experience of my life. Every summer, I start to think back on my journey, and the many lessons it taught me. Every photo I took tells a story, and captures a moment in time that made me the person I am today. Here are 24 photo moments from my journey to Santiago.
I just completed full write-ups on this blog for the Ausangate Trek, and the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu. Looking through my photos, I was consumed with the overwhelming urge to return to the beautiful country of Peru. There are times when words simply cannot do justice to a thought or emotion. In these times, I rely heavily on photo and video to bring my adventures back to life. Here are my 20 photos that will make you want to visit Peru.
May is the month that usually kicks off the SoCal hiking season, with high peaks becoming clear of ice and snow. Due to the drought, many of the trails under 10,000 ft have been bone dry since February. Needless to say, I was really excited when a cold storm blew through this week and dropped a nice coating of snow and rain over our mountains that were in desperate need of such precipitation.
