The city of Denver just hosted its first Outdoor Retailer after the bi-annual conference had been held in Salt Lake City for 20 years. I just returned from a visit to Denver where I attended the Outdoor Retailer Winter market and wanted to share a few highlights.

The KEEN Newport H2 Sandal is a popular water shoe built for hiking, walking, and travel adventures. The breathable upper uses nylon and neoprene for comfort and stability. The EVA midsole provides a stable base for all day comfort. The carbon rubber outsole handles trails and roads with ease. My son has been wearing the kid’s version of the KEEN Newport H2 for the past few months, and I’ll be sharing his experience in this review.
The Rokinon 35mm f/2.8 FE is a compact and lightweight prime lens designed for use with Sony full frame mirrorless cameras. Coming in at a mere 3 oz in weight and 1.3 inches in length, this is the smallest and lightest native full frame e-mount lens.
The TX3 is an approach shoe from La Sportiva that rides like a trail runner, yet provides the protection of a light hiker. With a breathable polyester mesh upper, a stable injected EVA midsole, and a super sticky Vibram MegaGrip outsole, there is a lot to love about the TX3.
The Salming Trail 5 is a lightweight trail shoe with a 5mm drop, a breathable 3-layer upper, and an amazing Vibram Mega-Grip outsole. The Trail 5 is built on an anatomical last that provides a very comfortable fit for long days on the trail.
The Sony FE 28mm f/2 is a fast wide-angle lens built for use on Sony’s full frame E-mount mirrorless cameras. The images I’ve been able to get using this 28mm gem rival the output of lenses two and three times more expensive.
The Salomon X Ultra has been updated to version 3 for 2017. Building on the success of the X Ultra 2, Salomon has made a few minor improvements to the upper that make for a much better fitting hiking shoe. The midsole and outsole go largely unchanged, which will come as good news to most of us that wore the X Ultra 2.

The Sony Zeiss 16-35mm Vario-Tessar f/4 is a zoom lens built for Sony’s full frame mirrorless camera lineup. Featuring a wide angle zoom range, a weather resistant solid metal build, and optical image stabilization, the Sony 16-35mm is a dream come true for travel photographers.
