Blue Ridge Campground is a cluster or 8 first come – first served sites near Wrightwood, CA. Situated at 8,000 ft, Blue Ridge Campground is intersected by the Pacific Crest Trail and is the end location of the Blue Ridge Trail hike. The 8 sites offer limited facilities with no piped water. The campground does have vault toilets, fire rings, and tables.
After a few rough nights of winter camping in a tent, I started looking for alternative sleeping options. My goal was to find a trailer that would allow us to enjoy the outdoors without having to brave cold winter nights. I rented a Teardrop trailer, and our family road trips will never be the same.
Alabama Hills is a recreation area made up of scenic rocks and hills located in the Owen’s Valley. Sitting on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, Alabama Hills has some of the most impressive low-elevation views a visitor can hope to see of Mt. Whitney and it’s surrounding peaks. In this post I’ll include instructions for this hike and information on camping at Alabama Hills, along with maps and photos.
This weekend we decided to spend some time out at Joshua Tree National Park. Living in Southern California, we forget how close the park is to where we live. There is just so much beauty, in what one could easily mistake for a martian landscape. It’s like being transported to another planet when you enter the park. Making things even more special, we stayed at a campground just outside the park this time around, Indian Cove Campground.
