Happy National Dog Day! Here Are 30 Pictures To Celebrate Man’s Best Friend!

National Dog Day

Happy National Dog Day! Anyone who has dogs or gets to interact with them on a regular basis knows what incredible specimens they are.  Dogs are always there to be your friend, offer support, and put a smile on your face. Dogs will keep you active and healthy, lower your stress, and always make you feel like a superstar when you get home from work. Dogs are incredibly loyal, and will be by your side for life. There is never a dull moment in life when you have dogs, and that is something I absolutely love. To celebrate National Dog Day, I give you 30 pictures of my two wonderful Goldendoodles, Isla and Lilly. These two have made life such a spectacular journey, and I can’t wait for all of the adventures we have in store for the future.

1. Isla and Lilly greet the morning sun with enthusiasm and stoicism every day.

  4. Ah fantastic pics!

  5. DEEEELIGHTFUL! I want a GoldenDoodle. Are they good around bears? haha

    • Thank you! haha, I’ve never had to find out about their bear abilities luckily! They love all people, dogs, and cats, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they were able to befriend bears 🙂

  6. Awesome 🙂 Loved them all!

  7. I didn’t know there was such a day. Yea!
I’ve been wondering, how do your dogs do on the trail? Any foot or tiredness issues. My passed dog did well, but Mustard, the dog we have now gets tired easily, and has foot pad issues.

    • Isla is a better hiker than I am, but Lilly gets a little tired at times. Isla is a year older though, and has had a lot more conditioning. Lilly should be at the same level in another year. Just be very consistent and work your dog up slowly. I also take them to the park or go for a walk/run just about everyday to help build up their endurance. As for their pads, I’ve never had any trouble. I use Musher’s Secret before every hike, and it seems to do a great job at protecting their pads.

      • Musher’s Secret. Hmm, will have to look that one up. I’ve tried dog boots but they don’t stay on well. Maybe your dogs are also benefitting from lighter weight?

      • I was wondering about that too. Makes sense! I figured smaller dogs wouldn’t be able to make it on hikes but then again there’s a lot of deconditioned people they could pass in no time…

      • It’s all about conditioning. Think about how human endurance athletes look, too. They’re all very small with light frames. Like my dogs, they lack for power, but can go all day.

      • Yeah for sure, that’s great! We haven’t gotten a dog yet because we can’t where we’re living, but that’s definitely in future plans 🙂

      • Nice! Few things more exciting than bringing a dog into your life!

  8. Nice post and cute pups! They look like the perfect adventure buddies!

  9. Great shots of your dogs! And PS I LOVE Joshua Tree NP.

  10. Photo 9 can be a good stoner rock album cover!
