It’s no secret in Southern California that the best Dia de Los Muertos celebration outside of Mexico is at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The cemetery hosts the event each year with music, food, Aztec ritual dancing, art exhibits, and more. My favorite part is that nearly all visitors come prepared with face paint and their very best Calaca apparel. I spend most of my time on Trail to Peak posting landscapes and other shots from my outdoor adventures. I don’t usually post too many events that don’t fall under the ‘trail to peak’ umbrella. This Dia de Los Muertos outing is just too much fun to miss though. Here are my 20 favorite portraits that I’ve taken in previous years!
*For 2017: Dia de Los Muertos at Hollywood Forever Cemetery is being held on October 28, 2017. Noon to Midnight. Check the Lady of the Dead website for information on visiting.

These are great, Drew! I have been considering whether to go or not … I even have a Catrina costume. I’ve been working my keester off lately–but maybe this is just what I need.
Thanks, it’s a really fun event. I hope you were able to make it.
