Camino de Santiago

Day 3: Pamplona to Puente la Reina

After walking 44 km yesterday, I opted for a much shorter 24 km trek today. I was joined by a Canadian named Julia, who had begun her day in Cizur Menor. The trail out of Pamplona heads uphill through glistening fields of sunflowers. At the top, there are windmills and a monument. The best part was being able to look back down on the city that had just celebrated San Fermines.. We spent some time in Uterga and Obanos before arriving in Puente la Reina around 1:00. To my surprise, I ran into an Argentine friend I walked with for a while in the Pyrenees.
